The GRE is part of the assessment criteria by most non-management, post graduate programs in USA {except Law and Medicine}. Many universities, in and outside USA, also use this as a measure to evaluate student potential to pursue various demanding post graduate programs. GRE is the most widely accepted examination by foreign universities to determine a candidate’s eligibility for a postgraduate program. Thus, clearing GRE can be considered as the gateway to studying in a foreign university. Countries like USA, Canada and Singapore accept GRE. Apart from graduate schools, many business schools also accept GRE score and may convert it to equivalent GMAT scores, the generally accepted exam score for management courses.

The GMAT is a standardized assessment that helps business schools assess the qualifications of applicants for advanced study in business and management. Schools use the test as one predictor of academic performance in an MBA program or in other graduate management programs. GMAT is accepted by countries like USA, Canada, Singapore etc.

The GMAT measures one’s ability to think systematically and to employ the verbal and mathematical skills that one has acquired throughout his/her years of schooling. The test does not aim to measure the knowledge of specific business or academic subjects. One is assumed to know basic algebra (but not calculus), geometry and arithmetic, to know the basic conventions of standard written English, and to be able to write an analytical essay.
